Will My Havanese Dog Need Boots This Winter? (types Of Boots If You Know Any) ?
Filed under Care & Training Q&As
I just bought a havanese doggy and it snows alot here so i was wondering if he will need boots to keep his feet warm. Also will he need clothing because i will keep him in the “puppy cut”

I had a seven lb Maltese in the puppy cut – never needed any boots or clothing. They just learn to “go” quicker when it’s colder out – as long as you don’t go on long walks your dog will be fine.
Keep in mind that MOST of the clothing and boots available are very uncomfortable for the dog. It can restrict movement and that can make a dog uncomfortable and they may feel trapped. Clothing can also rub the fur the wrong way, make the dog overly hot, etc.
I would go with a soft sweater or a simple, soft jacket if you need to.
Oh BOY what fun. just put “dog apparel” in the search engine you use and just start prowling thru them, If I was lucky enough to get a Havanese, it would have at least one set of winter boots and a nice coat and sweater or two, especially if I lived where it snowed. I live in TX (blah) and I have all my life and our winters can get cold, but snow is rare.
He won’t need boots unless he’s going for walks over freshly salted steets or sidewalks.
He won’t need clothes unless he starts shivering on walks.
I wish I had a a havanese.
i have a boxer and he hates boots he wouln’t were them and kicks them of so that they get lost
No. It still has fur, it will be fine.
