You never want to buy a dog from the internet. You never know what the people are giving you or if they’re going to give you anything at all! I’ve seen many cases where someone pays someone online to ship a pup and they either 1) don’t get the pup or 2) get something else (IE wrong breed, unhealthy, sick, etc)
You want to find a good breeder in your area that will let you meet and interact with the litter and mother dog. YOu need to find a breeder that can prove proper health tests were done to keep the puppies healthy and free of genetic disease. You want a breeder that will sit down with you and work out a contract and help you find a dog that fits your lifestyle.
No one is going to “give away” a healthy pure bred dog, especially not the kind you want unless it has some sort of behavior or health problem. Those dogs are popular and go for $400 on up through $1,400.
Your best bet for “cheap” is a dog rescue or shelter. But if you’re putting a limit on the dog’s price can you afford the necessary supplies and vet care? We spent about $300 on supplies (crate, food, bowls, collar/leash, ID tag, license, beds, towels, carpet cleaner, toys, and a round of puppy classes) and about $200 on vet care (initial visit to start a chart, start a shot schedule, flea/tick prevention, heart worm meds, etc) in the first month.
I’m still spending money on her for food, new toys, training, grooming, and vet visits (spaying this friday.) YOu can expect to spend about $1,000 or so on vet care per year, including emergencies.
Those particular breeds are also long coated dogs so unless you learn how to safely groom them at home, you’ll be spending a bit of money on grooming every few months.

So you want someone to put you in touch with a puppy miller online or some irresponsible back yard breeder who needs to get rid of some accidental matings?
This is for dog lovers, sweetie, and no one who loves dogs would adopt, or buy, for cheap from these sources.
If you want one of these breeds, go to a breed rescue and see if they have a nice mature dog that needs you and that you could love and take good care of.
Then you can join us as dog lovers.
    Good luck.

    First and foremost.
THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A CHEAP OR FREE DOG
You figure in vet costs, food costs, and just general expenditures. No such thing as free, and not even close to cheap.
If you arent financally stable enough to buy your dog from a REPUTABLE breeder, do the dog a favor, and dont get one.
Now, if you DO have the ability to support a dog emotionally and monetarily, head down to your local shelter.

other than the comments that you have already gotten, you should be able to look in the paper. http://akc.org has breeders listed as well as http://puppydogweb.com. most will cost from 350 or so and there will be some within driving distance from you. Getting an older one or a resuced one would be a good pet, and you have to keep in mind the health issues of these pets when they are older. we rescue shih tzu’s and sometimes it is expensive for med tx before we give them away.

Are you serious? You’re looking for a dog…cheap…online. WTF? This isn’t the latest X-box you’re looking for here. It’s a living breathing LIFE. You should be trying to find the best puppy or dog for you. Meet with breeders, talk to rescue associations, check out local shelters. The most inexpensive good dog you can get it by going to rescues and shelters. Forget this “online cheap” nonsense.

The websites and online sales are the PUPPY MILLS! Be careful!
Never choose a dog on looks or breed. Find the BEST MATCH for your situation and your dog.
For instance, a puppy might not be right if your family is gone all day. but another type of dog that is housebroken might be great.
Each dog’s needs and personality is different.
Go to http://www.petfinder.com and talk to breed rescues, rescues, and shelters. Discuss your lifestyle, needs and work with an adoption counselor to find the best MATCH for your household.
NEVER buy a dog from the pet store, or classifieds, or websites. Those are the puppy mill puppies. Big trouble!
You need to find the right individual dog.
    See http://www.stoppuppymills.org
Many of these breed have bad defects because of the bad breeding going on.
You might consider volunteering at an animal shelter. You can help dogs, and find a great dog!

http://www.petfinder.org [EDIT- petfinder.com, though .org will redirect you]
The pups will mostly be mixes, but the adoption fees are ridiculous and generally cover things you would need to pay for on your own if you got a free dog from an accidental breeding. THey need homes.

I know a lot of people who sell cheap dogs online! Get a cheap dog, spend thousands on vet bills later! And support puppy mills!
Buy a well bred dog from a REPUTABLE breeder, have a dog for 15 to 20 yrs. without a lot of genetic diseases, um let’s see, which is cheaper? Can you guess?
