Go to the library and check your local newspaper for the ads, also check the breeder listings on Dog’s Magazine or on the net, they might list breeders on your area and check them out. Once you find the right breeder, check out their facilities, ask to see the puppy’s parents …and ask all the necessary questions. Never buy a dog from a pet shop, ususally they come from a puppy mill. By the way, a good pet quality dog nowadays cost more than $200.00 expect to pay a little bit more.
If I were you I would go to a rescue group and try to locate one. Check them out too in your area.

Unless you get the dog at a shelter or rescue it might be from a puppy mill or a backyard breeder and neither of those operations should be supported.
