I know this will not be a popular answer, but if you have to leave a dog alone all day while you work, you should’t really get one at all. dogs are social animals and you will have all kinds of behavioural problems if the dog is stressed through being left alone too long.
If you are determined to get one even though its life will be kinda miserable, then do not get a puppy. Toilet training alone will take up to six months (don’t believe websites that tell you you can do it in three weeks!!) and you are sure to lose patience if you come home every day from work to find your house a mess. Leaving a puppy in a cage all day is cruel and you should not be considering that option.
Please consider an older dog and whether there is a neighbour who would have your dog at home during the day, so that your dog has companionship for the many hours you’re out.

get a cavachon- they’re a mix of a king charles cavalier spaniel and a bijon…. they’re cute, small, playful and they don’t shed since they’re hypoallergenic
i’ve had a cavachon for about 5 years now and i’m in love with him :)

A short haired dachshund they are small and they don’t grow much they usually weigh under 30 pounds also they are very energetic dogs they are easy to groom because of their short hair and they love to hunt.
