What Is The Best Overall Dog? Low Shedding, Non-aggressive,great W/ Kids & Pets, fairly Easy To Train ?
I’ve been doing lots of research & wanted personal opinions. Please let me know what you think… I was leaning towards a Boston Terrier, Havanese or a Coton de Tulear. Thanks for your input!

I have a Boston and they ARE the BEST! some people think they are hyper and at times they can be, but that is because they, well at least mine, love people! at home my Lola has her spot on the couch or next to my step dad and she is just as calm as can be. They are VERY smart and trainable. I don’t have a yard either and had to do research, to have small low maintenance dog, we have a good size back deck for her that is perfect. also they are cool looking, lots of complements, price range anywhere between 400-1200 $ mine was 800 all together but well worth it. they can be obsessive with ball chasing though but it is good exercises for them. Good luck with you pick! I Love My Boston!!
i really wanted an english bulldog, but it is HOT where we live i guess not good for bulldogs and they also have breathing troubles that require lot of vet visits, and one of the rules of me getting dog was i had to take her with me everywhere, so they had to be able to get in and out of the truck easily, might not be too easy for a bulldog. i also wanted a dog that could go to the lake, i read that it is not safe for bulldogs to swim, i have seen them with life jackets do just fine. My Boston does fine swimming, just keep a close watch. They are great dogs !
There is no over all best dog. The best dog for an individual is the one that best fits into your lifestyle. It is your familys needs that matter not the opinion of others. Easy to train is a matter of the skill of the trainer, good with kids is a matter of proper socilization as is non-aggressive, low-shedding is a matter of opinion and perception. Someones elses low shedding dog may seem like a mountain of hair to you. All puppies are going to by hyper, you don’t need a fenced yard as long as you can provide sufficent exercise.
I think your requirements are totally unreasonable. No dog comes that way. You have to train them. It sounds to me like you don’t want to put the work in to train them. If that’s the case the picture idea (pretending its real) is your best option. It seems to me you want a dog because its fun not because you care for animals. I feel a dog in your hands will be a very unhappy pet and possibly a violation of animal rights laws.
many retreiver dogs are great….
i wouldn’t have a boston, only because the only one i know is terrible….
call me breedist- i know…
havanese are REALLY neat little dogs!! my landlady had one for the longest time, and he was smart as a whip, and lots of fun! we taught him all sorts of tricks, and he lived till he was 16!
best thing to do is get a picture of your favorite dog and prop it up on the wall and pretend it’s alive.. that’s about as close as you’ll get if you aren’t prepared to do some work, all dogs require training to fit those requirements.
It sounds to be like you aren’t even ready to have a dog. If you don’t want to put up with that stuff you shouldn’t own one. Go to a shelter and save a dog, instead of buying from a breeder.
Yorkies or Chihuahua. They are both super cute.
Yorkies are usually good.
Chihuahuas sometimes have a yippy yap. but if you find they right one, they are perfect.
Boston Terriers or French Bulldogs are exactly what you’re looking for.

Yorkies are by far the best. They are very smart dogs, easy to train and not yappy at all. i lovee them!
