All cute toy dogs who are high maintenance on grooming. Haven’t seen a Havanese in person but believe that was the breed that on “Dynasty” Alexis’ (Joan Collins) character had on the 2nd half of the series – named “Rio” and a cutie!
Bichons to me look like white toy poodles overdue for a grooming, lol! They are adorable & I have trouble differentiating them from a toy poodle.
All three look like they need lots of brushing plus frenquent professional grooming visits.
Personally, I have a miniature poodle and I have his grooming as low maintenance as possible – a kennel clip. This is a short all over clip with the ears, top of head and tail left long.
I don’t care for Bichon’s, but I’ve been prejudiced by the people I know that own them. Hate the owner, hate the dog. As for maltese, I haven’t met any that were properly trained and didn’t bark from the moment I came through the door ’til the moment I left. I did meet a nice, quiet little havanese that was too cute. I think it’s owner took the time to train it, which made all the difference to me.
While i don’t have much experience with havanese, i can say that the maltese almot always proves to be a excellent choice for any home. My mom breed maltese for over 20 yrs. and never once did we have a bad tempered dog. Their coats can be a challenge, but if you give a good brush every day and opt for a puppy cut the trouble is minimal.
I use my dogs for hunting purposes. All purely “pet” dogs might as well be a hamster if you’re just putting it in a cage and letting it out to be petted and go poo.
I love havanese! I think they r ADORABLE! i have a toy poodle and a bison and didn’t cage them either. They sleep on my bedroom floor!

Great dogs if trained and brought up right, just like any other breed.
What do I think?…I think they are too small, I like BIG dogs.
