Will A One Year Old Havanese Dog Survive If It Becomes Part Of A Sled Dog Team In Alaska This March?
Filed under Care & Training Q&As
I was invited to the Iditarod in Alaska this March with a friend, but I don’t think that I am eligible to compete in this race myself, and this race lasts about ten days.
So, in my time spent waiting for the racers to show up to finish in Nome, I want to do some sled dog racing of my own. I don’t have a dog of my own, but the neighbor girl has a Havanese, and I know that she would let me use it.
Her Havanese has short, stubby legs, and it has a lot of hair in its eyes. I would assume that since the limbs are short, this dog would most likey have good circulation compared to a dog with long limbs. Also, the hair would keep the snow out of its eyes.
I would like to make the Havanese the first member of my sledding team if it won’t excessively endanger its life.
I Have A 4 Year Old Dog With Biting Issues. Please Help.?
Filed under Care & Training Q&As
He’s a mix of Havanese and Poodle. He is very playful. When he’s bored he randomly starts biting my heels, hands, etc. Whatever is closest to him. If I give him a toy he ignores it. Sometimes he gets so annoying that I smack him and… he doesn’t stop biting. It just makes him do it more, I guess he thinks I’m playing with him… What should I do. It’s really annoying. I wanted to take him to a training school but there’s none near where I live. (He’s not adopted I got him when he was 18 weeks) I always offer him toys when he bites but he ignores them.
Seven Year Old Dog Uses The House As His Bathroom.?
Filed under Care & Training Q&As
We have a bichon havanese that is seven years old, we have sent him to a place that trains dogs, we have tried training him ourselves, and yet he still pees and poops all over the house… on bedding, on carpets, everywhere, even if we’ve just let him out and it’s just getting insane… we’re at our last straw, getting ready to call the dog whisperer, any suggestions?
We Have A 16 Year Old Australian Shepard, Panda. Would It Be Ok To Get A New Puppy?
Filed under Care & Training Q&As
Panda has helped raise two children and a kitten and we love her very much. She is in OK health but spends most of her time sleeping. She occasionally wants to play, especially with her cat, but is usually inactive. We wanted to wait until she passed away, but hopefully that won’t be for awhile and I do not want to even think about that. We would like a puppy to take on walks, train and play with but we are concerned about making Panda jealous. Odd as this sounds, I was thinking Panda might like having a puppy she could pass on her knowledge to. I have been researching small breeds so if they jumped on her it would not hurt. Also, a breed that loved other dogs. I have come up with either a Havanese or a petite goldendoodle. Does anyone have advice or comments to share with me on this. Thanks.

How Do I Get My 4 Year Old Havanese To Stop Barking At Every Dog He Sees?
Filed under Care & Training Q&As
My Havanese is 4 years old. I have had him since he was 3 months old. He is usually rather quiet in the house but when we go out on the street he barks at every dog he sees. He attended a begginer puppy course when he was little and we attented as well a private training course. We have tried everything from a muzzle, harness and even trying to distract him but nothing seems to work. Please help
