Does Anyone Have Experience With Havanese Dogs?

I’m considering this breed for our family since we have a 5 yr old daughter. I’m told they are excellent with children. I don’t think I’ve ever known one as my past experience has been with terriers. Anyone have/had one?

My brothers and I are 11 years apart and the are still young. The Mutt I currently have is getting kind of old and lives outside because she tried to bite one of my brothers for no reason. I Have A 4 Year Old Dog With Biting Issues. Please Help.?

He’s a mix of Havanese and Poodle. He is very playful. When he’s bored he randomly starts biting my heels, hands, etc. Whatever is closest to him. If I give him a toy he ignores it. Sometimes he gets so annoying that I smack him and… he doesn’t stop biting. It just makes him do it more, I guess he thinks I’m playing with him… What should I do. It’s really annoying. I wanted to take him to a training school but there’s none near where I live. (He’s not adopted I got him when he was 18 weeks) I always offer him toys when he bites but he ignores them.

Can I Take My Puppy Running With Me?

I have a 5month old puppy. he is 12 lbs and shouldn’t get much bigger than 15lbs (he is already bigger than both his parents which are a havanese and a maltese).
I am thinking on taking him on 2-3 3km (1.8mile) runs with me as i begin training for a 1/2 marathon. I am very slow, he doesn’t get to more than a “trot” pace himself (i run at a pace of 6min/km – these runs take me about 18-20min).
I’ve heard it’s not good to “run” with a puppy. but would this be considered “running”?? he gets much harder workouts playing fetch in the backyard, but at the same time i would feel horrible if it turned out i was hurting him!!

Have You Ever Met A Breed Champion? What Was Your First Experience With One?

I have been around mutts and other “normal” type dogs my entire life. I saw a dog training demonstration with this adorable little Havanese having a blast showing off his tricks (including agility, directed retrieve, and long stays). It turns out that this little guy was not only very well-trained, but also a breed champion. I realized this is the first titled dog I’ve ever met!
I was impressed with the guy. What are your stories?
