My Havanese Puppy Is Now 16 Weeks – Is It Too Late To Crate Train Him?

He only likes being in his crate at night when we are all in bed – during the day he whines and cries when I put him in his crate. My goal is to have him do his “potty” outside only – I have heard that keeping him in his crate and taking him out only for “potty” is effective. Can I start this method if I have had my puppy now for over 3 weeks?

Same as any dog. Take an obedience class to train the owner, then have the owner train the dog. Check your phone book for classes near you.
All dogs learn by operant conditioning. Your only choice is how good a conditioner you will become. Google for clicker training.
