The breeder told me to feed her Eukanuba and Purina — my dog likes Eukanuba but she hates Purina. I suspect that there are other brands that are healthier than Eukanuba.

Someone asked me if our 6 month old black Havanese had blueish skin? I thought it was a joke but when I looked he does.
Can anyone shed some light on the blue skin?

How Can I Stop My 5 Month Old Puppy’s Screaming When Put In Kennel At Bf’s House For Nighttime?

5 mo. house trained Havanese. It took about 2 mo. for her to not cry & learn to be kennel trained for sleeping at my house- she’s an angel there now.
When I go to my BFs, she LITERALLY SCREAMS when we put her in her kennel at night. I bring the same 1 she uses from home to BF’s place. I’m at his home 2 weekends/month for 1-2 nights. His bedroom is upstairs & we put her in the 1st fl. dining room. B/c we have allergies/asthma, she can’t sleep in our bed. I would also prefer that she/the kennel weren’t in the bedroom at night so we have1 safe-zone. Also, it doesn’t seem worth it since during the 1st wks I put her/ the kennel in my bedroom at night and she still cried, so I moved her to another room in the apt and ignored the cries (unless I thought something was wrong).
I think she might be a crier in general – if she’s not in the same room as me, she cries/screams but doesn’t destroy things-but not at night in kennel anymore.
Any suggestions? PLS HELP me make my pup&BF happy!

Questions About My 5 Month Old Havanese Pup?

I have a 5 month old Havanese. I have had her since she was 8 weeks old. She is an absolute sweetie, but I have a few questions about some things she does. First a bit of information…
She is scheduled to be spayed in August, when she is 6 months old. I have a 6 year old female spayed Bichon too and they are best friends. I rescued the Bichon at 8 months old. No previous puppy experience.
my questions are: she seems to be frightened of her reflection and barks at herself if she sees her reflection in the fridge, fireplace.. etc…Is this normal puppy behavior? She can be quite vocal around other dogs. I walk her regularly and have taken her to off leash parks, but due to my fear of bigger dogs attacking her, off leash is not my favorite place to go. Does she need to be socialized more? She chews my books if I do not put them up high enough. She has a lot of chew treats and toys, but books seem to be her favorite.
I have used the spray bottle thing when she barks, but she thinks its a game and loves water. I have the bitter yuk stuff and it works at times to prevent her from chewing stuff she shouldn’t. She is potty trained, knows sit, down, off, etc.
any input is greatly appreciated.. thanks in advance

3 Month Old Puppy Questions… Potty Training, Treats, Feeding, Etc…?

I’m having a bit of difficulty getting her to use the training pads, she always pees somewhere else. She is pretty good with going outdoors, but I have to be on top of her taking her out every so often, and she’ll pee on the floor between trips out. I wake up to a few poops every morning, off the pad of course. Is there anything I can do about this? How long on average does it take for the training to sink in? And when will I be able to reward her with treats for going in the appropriate place, and what brands are healthier. One last question, how often should I be feeding her, and how much.
Sorry for the long entry and many questions. I just got a 3 month old havanese two days ago, and I want to the best for her in every way.

Potty Training A 8 Month Havanese?

hi
my grandma just got a 8 month old havanese male.
This dog is great, it follows her everywhere, doesnt bark, wont run away off leash.
But the problem is it goes to the bathroom in the house.
The poo is like rocks (is that ok) so thats easy to get rid of but the pee is a lot harder to deal with.
She had him outside off leash for 20 minutes, then brought him inside and he immediatly peed on the carpet.
He has only gone once on his pee pad.
My grandma lives in a loft like thing, and she is getting http://www.hammacher.com/publish/74967.a… for it to go on on her tiny porch
Is he just stressed cause hes only been there a week?
How do u potty train a old puupy?
