Would A Samoyed Be A Good Dog For Me?

I just moved out on my own and I want to get a dog to keep me company, preferably one who can come jogging with me too. I’m not really looking for a watchdog or guard dog or anything, even though I’m living alone, I just want a friendly dog who loves everybody so I don’t have to worry when my sister brings her kids over, etc. Grooming is not really an issue. I was thinking a Samoyed would be a good fit, cause I heard they’re really sweet and love everyone, and are active so the jogging thing works. The only thing is I’ve never trained a dog on my own before. When I was in high school my family got a Havanese, which I helped train, but he was fairly easy to train and my parents did most of it. I don’t think I’m a total beginner when it comes to training dogs, so I wouldn’t call myself a “first time dog owner”, but I wouldn’t say I’m an exceptionally “experienced” dog owner either. So I’m wondering if I’d be able to handle training this dog? Are they hard to train?

What Is A Good Way Into Talking Parents Into Buying A Bijon Havanese?

My parents aren’t planning to buy Havanese in a while. I don’t want to wait anymore though. I want a dog in the worst way. My mom is ok with getting a dog but my dad so far does not want a dog at all. I am trying to find out ways into talking my dad into geting a dog but it is not going so well.

Are Havanese Dogs Good Off The Leash?

if they are, how do you train them to stay close and not run off?
