Seven Year Old Dog Uses The House As His Bathroom.?

We have a bichon havanese that is seven years old, we have sent him to a place that trains dogs, we have tried training him ourselves, and yet he still pees and poops all over the house… on bedding, on carpets, everywhere, even if we’ve just let him out and it’s just getting insane… we’re at our last straw, getting ready to call the dog whisperer, any suggestions?

The first answer was idiotic. Rubbing their face in it and hitting them won’t do anything but make them afraid of you.
I’m sorry, if you’ve been to a professional trainer and they weren’t able to cure the problem, and this dog has been this way for 7 years, I’m guessing you’ve tried everything, crate training, potty pads, taking him for lots of walks, etc., and tried each method consistently for a long enough time to know that it isn’t working. Have you spoken with your vet about it to see if there is a medical reason for his issues? Maybe he doesn’t have the physical muscle control to hold it? If so there may be a surgery they can do to help him, I’m not sure. But if not, or if that’s not the case, unfortunately, you might be forced to make him an outside dog. If you do resort to that, just make sure he has plenty of good shelter and toys, and that you spend a LOT of time outside with him.
Sorry. Wow, I can’t believe you’ve put up with that for 7 years!
