How Do You Find Havanese Or Coton De Tulear In Australia?
Filed under Care & Training Q&As
I have been looking all over the internet and in Australia these wonderful breeds are very rare, I am in Queensland and in the two weeks I have been looking, I have only managed to find one Havanese (from a breeder, selling for $2000) and one Coton De Tulear. Both were in NSW and I really don’t want to have to subject a puppy to too much travel or pay a fortune for one from a breeder.

The best way to guarantee the health and quality of your pup is to buy from a dedicated breed enthusiast i.e a registered breeder.
Sometimes breeders may have older dogs available for sale or even giveaway. The ones that don’t quite meet breed standards or have been returned from another owner. There may be a rescue service run by the breeders or a breed club.
Well I guess you’re screwed. I very much remember answering a question like this not too long ago….
Your only hope is to look into adopting one from a shelter. Who says that it HAS to by a puppy?
