Havanese???

Recently when we went to Crufts we fell in love with the Havanese but we are not sure what their temperament/personality is like. Also does anyone know a Havanese breeder around Birmingham UK?

The Havanese is a very affectionate breed of dog. He is intelligent, gentle and becomes very attached very easily with his family. They are excellent with children and love to be around humans. They are good with other dogs, non-canine pets and people. They are easy to train and they learn quickly. Although they are very sociable and love to be around people, they can become shy, aggressive or timid when they aren’t socialized enough as puppies.
The personality of the dog is very different in each dog. When you find a (reputable) breeder that you are happy with, be sure to take a look at the sire AND dam and check their temperament. They shouldn’t be timid, shy or aggressive. They should be happy, playful and greet you with wags.
As reputable breeders will only mate their dogs if they have got homes ready for pups, be prepared to go on a long waiting list for a puppy. Usually the waiting list of a Havanese is 7+ months so don’t be afraid to contact more than 1 single breeder.
Here is the Havanese club’s website -> http://www.havaneseclub.co.uk/ which gives you information about the breed, breed standard, events (Havanese shows, get together’s, etc.) amongst other things. The link for reputable breeders in the U.K -> http://www.havaneseclub.co.uk/breeders%2… .
Good luck with your search to find a well-bred Havanese =)

Contact the breed club. They will give you all the necessary information about the breed & reputable breeders. They are a fairly recent addition to the Uk you may have to be prepared to go on a waiting list for a puppy.
