Havanese Or King Charles Cavalier?

I’ve narrowed down my puppy search to these two breeds. I love the temperment and look of both breeds but have no actual experience with either.
I’m a stay at home Mom and so I have lots of time to devote to care and training of a puppy. We have a large lab, three kids and two indoor cats and so I was wondering if anyone had an opinion on which would be the better choice for my family.
Thanks

Those are two very different breeds, and its not just because they don’t look the same.
Here is some good research on the breeds. Read about them, write down all the pros and cons that you may have about each breed as you read about them, compare how many pros and cons that you’ve written about them, and pick the one that has more pros than cons. :0)

The Cavalier would do best with your Lab. The cavalier has a thicker bone structure so they’re not as fragile as a Havanese. Plus the Cavalier is highly intelligent making them extremely easy to train. Plus the Cavalier are not known to be barkers unlike the Havanese can be Yappy. The Cavalier love and adore cats and kids. There’s not an aggressive bone in their body. Very fun loving and affectionate with everyone and everything. They are happy all the time constantly wagging their tail.

I would go with the havanese, I was looking at both breeds also just a little while ago as a new pet, I found that Cavaliers can have a lot more health problems, a lot of the Cavaliers I have known have gotten cancer or some other kind of illness… Apart from that, both are very nice breeds and I personally think Cavaliers are the cutest… I think they are roughly the same though personality wise… I think the havanese is hardier and best for your circumstances… ^-^

The only time my havanese is yappy is when a stranger comes in the door and as soon as she realizes everything’s a ok, she shuts up and you don’t hear anything else from her. I’ve never had a king charles, so don’t know about that. I do know the havenese is great, although you must brush them like you would brush your own hair.

I am going to have to say the cavalier, i mean they both are great toy breeds but i prefer the look of the cavalier. They are less yappy then the havanese that I have had experiences with. Whatever you decide you have two great breeds! Good luck! I hope this helps you decide :)

From personal experience I think Cavaliers are a little less energetic……maybe a little less yappy too.
