You can’t expect the two puppy’s to care about training if they’re around eachother all the time. They’re just being distracted. And it’s going to take more effort than just two weeks, sorry to say that.
You may have to take them out one at a time. And crate training them at night works wonders!
I have a 7 month old bull terrier. I feed her twice a day, which helps determine when she’ll have to go “number two”. As for the potty breaks inbetween feeding times, I had to start off taking her out every 5-10 minutes. Puppy’s at that age can’t hold their fluids that long, so it doesn’t take much for them to have to go again. Take the puppy’s out one at a time after they play really hard.
Crate training comes in handy at night. Get something just being enough for the pup to stand up and lay down comfortably. If it’s too big, they will just potty in the corner and sleep at the other end till you clean it up.
Stick to your training and don’t give up or get discouraged. Just know that they’ll have a harder time picking up their training if you’re training them at the same time.
Good luck
Hope that helps
Its quite easy to housetrain a dog once you get the knack of it, The biggest tool you need is to catch them in the act of trying to pee, When you see this behavious Run towards them and shout no and put the offender outside. Make sure you let them out every few hours and if your a guy even take a leak outside there yourself, sounds bizarre but it works.
Repeat this process and within about 3-4 days they should be completly housebroken.
Poodles are intelligent, might even only take a day to work, Remember the secret is in catching them in the act, You cant shout at them after they have left a mess or done it because its too late and they dont understand.
If you watch them carefully enough you will be able to tell when they are about to go, They starting looking around and sniffing the floor.
you have to kind of force them to pee outside. when you take them out, take them out on a leash and stay there until they do pee. if you never give them a chance to pee inside again, even if they’d prefer to, they’ll become accustomed eventually to peeing outside.
you’ll have to figure out what the dogs want. maybe there’s a specific, delicious treat you can give them. have you tried bits of chicken, or hot dog, or fruit or something? different dogs have different tastes, and i’m sure you can find a treat they love and will perform for. then you give it to them only for peeing outside, and if they love that treat they’ll prefer going outside for that celebration.
What do you do?
Be patient. Realize they are BABIES and it may take several months to “perfect” potty training.
How long are you waiting after they eat?
You can’t take them out RIGHT after they eat. Their food needs some time to digest.
Give them 24/7 access to water, and take them out consistently every hour.
I would really leave them outside longer, and alone (i would not pee infront of someone.) just go inside… and watch from a window. I would suggest to use a kennel. one in one kennel and one in another kennel. the kennel needs to be big enough for them to turn around… stand and lay down fully streched out!
hope that helps.
They’re young. Just keep doing it and be patient. For me, I would walk them around for an hour, especially after they drank some water. Puppies can’t hold it that long, so when they end up pottying outside, give them a treat and praise. Through that, they’ll learn. Poodles are very intelligent creatures and are very quick in learning. I’m guessing your havanese is older? When you have 2 dogs and if you bring in a new dog or one of them is younger or submissive to the other, they start adapting to the other dog. So when they see the other dog pee inside, they learn that’s what they need to do. Try potty training them seperately and see how that works.
If they ever ‘go’ inside your house, shove them outside. If they ‘go’ outside your house (where you want them to), praise them and give them a treat. It’s how I house trained my dog.
Little dogs are very hard to potty train. Keep them tethered to you in the house and when you see them smelling around looking for a place to potty, get them outside. If you catch them in the act of going, give one stern no, pick them up and get them outside. Also crate training will do wonders.
