You wont like this but dont scold it is in all the puppy training books , its gets nowhere and makes your dog afraid of you , do not point and do not use the word no , but when the puppy/dog does it right use lots and lots of praise , i understand you may need to tell your dog off but use certain words such as leave , if the dog does it in the house its catching it in the house and straight out side , a dog needs to be let out every half hour where possible , if your grandparents are always at home its getting to the warmer season leave the back door open let them be free :) , also try leaving a light on in the kitchen some dogs are scared of the dark we found when we did this even a night light it worked , dogs are clean animals puppy training pads , or newspaper should help , keep small treats on hand when u take them in the garden everytime they do it outside give them a treat and eventually wean them off the treats .

My dogs sometimes still wee in the house even if they have been taken outside every few hours.
They are shut in a dog pen in the kitchen at night so they cant ruin the house.

ours does when she gets excited. but it should get better with age. i hope!
ours had a bladder problem she was born with. she lost urine all the time. 1 of the tube from the kidney was in the wrong place.her bladder was in her pelvis.
she had it all put right and had to be spayed. that can make their control weak

research crate training very great method or there is a spray you can buy that makes dogs not want to pee in the house but is odorless to you, oh and if they do go outside and pee outside reward them with treats, and the peeing when they get excited yeah they just kinda have to grow out of that or know that if someone new is coming put them strait outside and don't let anyone hold them right away we had a dog with the same problem but in like 2-3 years they will grow out of the peeing because they are excited
