Does Anyone Know Any Problems They Have Had Happen Or Seen Happen With Their Havanese?

I was thinking about having a Havanese as a pet. Has anyone had any problems with this breed before? Is this breed just like a Bichon Frise , just in different colors? Any experiences you have had would help.

They have a number of serious health issues that are hereditary & only have a small gene pool. They are the number 3 breed for having thyroid problems which considering they aren’t that common is extremely high. I haven’t groomed one that lived to a normal old age & usually died by age 9, 10yr. They also require a great deal of maintenance for grooming & mat even easier than a bichon.
