Does Anybody Know The Difference Between The Temperament Of The Havanese And The Bichon Frise Dog?
I know they are from the same family as such but when researching the breeds on the net it says nearly the same things about their personality. Are they really alike in personality?

havanese and bichon are both easily-going and even tempered playful little dogs. there is no doubt that they will largely have the same personality. only difference will be in their VOCALITY. Havanese tend to be much more vocal, and hence they are not for everyone.
They are about the same in temperaments and it depends on how the dogs are raised if its a bad owner the dog will be bad if its a good owner the dog will be good. Bichon frise is hypoallergenic and the havanese isnt. but they both shed very little. personalities are both very playful.
havanese in my opinion are studier more family dogs, both of the breeds are hypoalergenic and very sweet…my aunt has 2 bichon’s and hers are very yappy…i have a havanese and he is not yappy at all so I’d go with a havanese

It’s not the temperament of a dog, it is how you raise them.

Hi, I own a bichon girl and a havanese boy. I think in terms of temperament, the breeds are very similar – varying depending on personality of each dog. Both breeds are people and animal friendly. None of my dogs are yappy and both were toilet trained by 5-6 months. They are both easy and a pleasure to live with. My havanese boy rarely rarely barks and he prefers to vocalise himself with the funniest yowl and howls. Both dogs love and are patient with children, although my bichon girl tends to be jumpy. Both coats require regular grooming, although I find the havanese coat is easier to dry and groom.
