Any dog can be ran with. My granmother has a Silky Terrier, and I ran with him and he loved it. Just rember that you need to go slower with a small dog and adjust your pace and distance to its size.

I think so! Your dog will let you know when he needs a break. Like humans, dogs need to warm up to exercise and they need to cool down, too.
I have been hearing a lot lately about dogs damaging their paws on pavement. This is another serious consideration - if your dog is not used to moving quickly on pavement, take it easy on him and check his pads!
Good luck!

Well they do have a lot of energy .. but if you are going to be running steady for a long distance then no its not a good idea to bring the little one ... we have a shih tzu and she loves to go for a walk and a run but its not long till she is jumping at the back of my legs to be carried ...
Good Choice of dog .. I love them they are sooo sweet!!

No, you should not run with ANY puppy of any breed and please do not anyone else tell you otherwise. Until the puppy has finished growing it's joints are fusing. Running or other types of forced exercise puts a huge amount of pressure on these growing joints. If your pup is pre-disposed to any joint problems (you won't know this until he has fully matured) forced exercise while he is still growing could make it 10x worse.
When he is done growing (12-18 months to be on the safe sides) you could start doing SHORT jogs with him but really, small breeds do not make ideal running partners. Their short stature and limited stamina means they will struggle. Working and hunting breeds are far better suited to running.
Good luck, and enjoy your pup.
