Can Anyone Tell Me About A Havanese Dog?

Are they good with Children? good temperment? are they yappers?
My neighbor is getting one and I would like to know what kind of dogs they are. Thanks

The havanese can come in many colors. They are bred as companion dogs. They are smart and pretty even tempered, I have yet to meet one that doesn’t like everyone they meet! (kids included as long as the kids are not abusive towards them).

They are fabulous
They are called Bichon Havanese. Same dog as the Frise, slightly different hair.
Havanese are even tempered, great with children, very very smart and require a great deal of grooming, both professionally and daily brushing, if the havanese look is to be maintained.

Some are easier than others – I know a couple who are cheerful, and one that can be a bit snippy.

Are they good with children? In the Cuban description of the breed it states, will play endlessly with children. This I have found to be true.
(Toddlers that grab their hair…not so much …A Havanese will generally try to avoid the toddler, however will not be snappy.)
Good temperment? Lovely, happy, friendly dogs. May have separation anxiety, and will love to shadow you.
Are they yappers? A Havanese will bark to alert you of people coming. Can be trained not to bark incessantly.

They are very intelligent dogs, used in the circus. They are excellent with children and everyone else: stranger,cats,dogs,kids, etc. They are sensitive to harsh words and some are a little shy with strangers.
