Call a breeder and ask if you can take a “Rescue”. Rescues are usually under $500.
There’s always http://www.petfinder.com and the breed rescue sites. Be sure you’re spelling the name of the breed correctly and then then type “Havanese rescue” into the search box at http://www.google.com and see what you find. Most specific breeds have rescue sites nowadays. It’s worth a look.
Why don’t you adopt an animal in need from the pound. It is selfish and low class to pay for a dog when so many need homes.
